Leave UMC plugged in all the time or store & retrieve as needed?

I've been waiting on Tesla to restock the cable organizer so I just plug in the nema 14-50 when I need to charge but then store the UMC in the round mesh bag when I'm done.

Is there a reason why this practice is bad and I should just plug in all the time?

Thanks

Is wrapping it up every time you use it bad? No. It's just an inefficient.

But you know how you drive and where you go and what your charging options will be. If you won't need it while away, just leave it plugged in all the time (assuming it's in a garage or somewhere safe). If you think you will or might regularly need it while away, it might behoove you to get two (so that one can remain in your car), or get a wall connector, which strikes me as more durable in the long run.

But I do have difficulty seeing how the cable organizer plays into this.

I can't possibly use up 200 miles driving around town locally in a day, or even two days, so there's no need to keep packing up the cable in the car. I unplug it just a few times a year when I'm going on a trip out of town. And even then, the UMC is just for outlets--it's not used for Superchargers, CHAdeMo, or J1772, so if it's a route I know with Superchargers and other charging resources available, I don't always bother with it then either. Yes, I know, I'm risking it a little bit in case a Supercharger is down or something, but I don't go to casinos, so I have to gamble somehow.
