Going on a cruise in April and wont be getting our new M3P until the 17th! (Ordered in January). Without owning for a while curious opinions on letting the car sit in the parking garage for 7 days not plugged in. I know turning of the climate and sentry mode would be a must and not checking the app all the time. Would charge it up before we park of course. I have looked on plug share and doesn’t look like any chargers in the parking garages in Port Canaveral. Any tips appreciated!

The car can easily go several weeks without charging. My son has been traveling and left his Model 3 here. Even with Sentry Mode on it took a couple weeks to go from 90% to 40%.

Forget the cruise. Take your new Model 3 on a nice road trip. Less likely to get exposed to Coronavirus!

We are in our 30s not our 70s! Also the cruise is still 40 days away and can cancel without penalty. We will see what the state of the world is in a few weeks! Thank you for the replies!

It's not just the risk of fatality or severe symptoms due to underlying medical conditions, it's also being quarantined for a minimum of 14 days on a ship or military base just because you have been exposed to the virus.
by april we will have lost all hope of containment and quarantine will be unnecessary
I went on a cruise in December. Drove my wife’s car there instead of the 3 because I wasn’t comfortable keeping it in a public garage for a whole week. I’m sure it would have been fine in terms of the battery, I just figured the 3 would be safer parked in my garage at home.

That seems pretty low. Thought the normal loss people observed (with sentry off) was around 1% a day?
On the car issue, we've left our cars for up to 3 weeks without sentry mode in airport parking lots. The loss was roughly a percent a day though it varied wildly from day to day. This is at LAX so no temperature extremes. I can't imagine a week being any problem if you start with a reasonable charge.

This is why the 3 needs bioweapon defense mode. Just keep air on circulate and instant self-containment. Someone petition Elon.
