Left headlight stays on after software update

I just updated software to 2022.12.3.16 and walked out to the garage afterwards and my left headlight is on. I tried turning off the lights, a soft reboot, and a hard reboot, and the light remains on. Any ideas? I guess I can try to navigate my way through Tesla's automated phone system, but I wanted to see if anybody had any ideas before I go down that rabbit hole.

Had this happen once on my 2016.5. It turned off and worked normally after an hour or so.

Waiting on a call back from Tesla now. Apparently it's an approximate 48 minute wait. I'm hoping my 12V battery doesn't end up dying.

Well, it didn't take quite an hour, but just like you, the light has gone off. Weird!

I had the same issue this morning. After the update my driver-side light was on and wouldn't shut off even if I turned lights of (from auto). I rebooted a couple times. I drove to work and rebooted again. The light hasn't shur off.
I also noticed my left blinker didn't make blink/click sound and didn't show on my IC as blinking, but I could see that it actually was blinking, but strangely fast.
And my car would no longer change lanes when on autopilot.
Bad update today. I hope it all fixes soon! Please LMK if anyone has any suggestions!

Another owner found that strange update bugs disappeared after changing the tire size in Controls-Service and then back. Yes, sounds strange. I've not needed or tried this trick.

Sounds suspiciously similar to some threads on Model S of similar vintage that turn out to be issues of faulty grounds. Specific are different, but the turn signal issue happened to me, but on the opposite side. I am awaiting my service appointment.

This could be a completely different issue, but just in case, check out this other thread: Ground Stud Nut over torqued

Seems strange that so many experience this after update. Seems firmware, not hardware. Unless the new firmware exposed a hardware issue. I have same issue , 2017 model s p100d. Tried wheel change and soft reboot. Issue still there this morning.

Update last night and exactly same problem with my car. WTF ??

After update, left headlight stayed on and left turn signal malfunction. Light stayed on all night and both cleared up in the morning. Stopped by the Tesla service department and service advisor just nodded and said firmware bug but it should be OK. 12v battery appears to still be ok after headlight being on all night.

No such luck for me. My headlight has been on for 4 days now! Tesla mobile repair tech advised to leave it on the charger in order to not harm the 12v battery. Service visit at the repair center is scheduled for another 3 days later. That's the soonest they could schedule me.

Mine was the headlight. My DRL didn't turn on but the headlight stayed on. I waited for about a week for my Tesla Service appointment and all they ended up doing was disconnecting the headlight and reconnect followed by a boot.

The updates sometimes do weird things. There was an update back in 2019 (I think) where the lights would randomly flash every night around 3am. It was due to a bug in the firmware and was corrected in the next download.
