Problem was fixed for me this morning with 2021.24.25.1. Applaud Tessa for the quick response to this software itch.I have the same issue on my car. It happened after updating from 2020 to 2021.24.25 over the weekend. I did soft reboots and power off - NO LUCK. Should I take it to my local service center?
Also what happens if you are just out of warranty and something like this happens?
It SHOULD be remedied by another software update, but, that could take awhile or may not come at all (like USB album art). Also what happens if you are just out of warranty and something like this happens?
Question to MCU1 car owners coming from 2020.x branch: Did you gain any new features with 2021.24.25?
Yes we are good to go. Have you all noticed the lower Wh/mi numbers? I get 300+ before the update but low 200s now so far.
Glad to hear that 1) I'm not alone and 2) a software patch may have already fixed this.
I'm installing the update right now and will report if this fixes mine as well.
Seems like it is muted if it otherwise works find but does not adjust the volume. What happens when you press the left scroll wheel when no sound is coming out? Does a press of the wheel control the other things it is supposed to control?
Yeap..... about a week ago I noticed the volume knob '18 MS 100 becoming less responsive (but it did work) Today... I can scroll the wheel up/down and the volume indicator might pop up but did nothing. I also noticed that the fwd/bk arrows stop controlling channel selection as well.Has this happened to anyone else? The left scroll wheel on my MS with MCU1 no longer has any affect on audio volume.
- Same result regardless of the audio source; phone via bluetooth, native streaming apps, or terrestrial radio
- Volume adjustment on the main screen works fine
- Turning the scroll wheel still causes the volume indicator on the IC to pop up and change up or down as it always has; just does not reflect actual volume change! The display can indicate that the volume is muted and the level hasn't changed at all.
- Recently updated to 2021.24.25 but can't remember if this issue presented before the firmware change or not
- Rebooted the MCU and issue still persists.
I dropped my X off this morning here in Baltimore at Tesla of Owings Mills because of this same issue. This afternoon 4:48 pm they sent a approval invoice of $1288.93 & almost a $1000 if that is to fix steering volume control on my steering wheel. They must be out their mind. Tesla looking like the good old boys with this one. SMH. I will be doing the power down and negative ground trick to see if that works when I get it back tomorrow.Has this happened to anyone else?
