If this Model S is indicative of a full production car, maybe someone close by might jaunt down and do reconnaissance? Please? Pretty please? Wish I was closer...
They currently have the grey performance car seen at the GetAmped tour I was told a red sig is coming as well for 2 cars total for test drives starting tomorrow
Grey performance with performance wheels and black interior and sunroof. Old nosecone. And sig red performance with standard 21" and sunroof. Old nosecone.
Thanks for checking them out. I thought they were full production versions that just came off the line?
I don't know if they were from the get amped tour or not. The store was only notified 48 hours ago that they were getting these two cars. They will be there throughout the weekend for people that didn't get to drive them on the get amped tour to test drive them. After this weekend they will have one car for test drives. Talking to the reps I got a few tidbits: - Elon is currently on site inspecting each car. - They are up to about 100 deliveries so far. Majority founders. - Michael, a roadster owner and Tesla Product Specialist at the Santana Row store is Sig holder 21 (or 23? definitely 20 something) is getting his delivered at the Santana Row store next Wednesday at 4PM. I may wander over there to check it out but I can't make it till ~7. He got the call last week. - A delivery specialist was there and he's in training for the past two months. Quite extensive training. - They are instructed on delivery to take any feedback and log it. Electric folding mirrors is the top desire. - They are working on enlarging all the gaps and roughening up the interior for a shabby-chic look.
5YJSA1AP6CFR00107 Get Amped @ Scottsdale, Performance, Dolphin Grey I think 115 was a Get Amped vehicle as well, based on the neighboring rows in my spreadsheet.
Damn it!! :-D Thanks for the great info. I don't suppose you heard what color that Sig number 20-something will be?
On an almost related note, we test drove black #114 at Menlo Park today. They also had a white one there for test drives, but didn't catch the VIN. I overheard one the employees on the phone with someone saying that test drives were only for reservation holders for (I think) another week or so, before they would let non-reservation holder test drive. Don't hold me to it though. </nosyeavesdropping>
Yes, was told at the Santana Row store today that test drives are for res holders alone as of now. And, they prefer them to be scheduled (via a call to the store or by email to any of the employees there if you get a business card from them), preferably during the less-busy week days. The store reps were willing to accommodate my wife and let her get a drive soon (I got my test drive back in Fremont in June). Saw the Sig Red go out for a drive while the Gray (oh wait, a customer's Gray Roadster too!) was charging: The Gray (with the perf wheels) was indeed very nice looking in the shade!
That exact color is at the top of my short list (the other is silver)... Difficult to decide when all I have seen are the color samples. Hopefully I will be able to arrange a test drive in Montreal with at least one of those colors (I know it's a long shot), if Tesla can get a few cars north of the border!
