Given the battery size and form factor, it's unlikely the range will be much better than the rating. The taycan has a much larger battery along with a slimmer and more aerodynamic profile. I'd be curious to learn why it did so poorly on the EPA test.

The RZ just feels like a previous generation EV along with the likes of the fat Audi etron and Jaguar ipace. Had it come out a few years ago it would have been competitive, but nowadays it just comes up short in too many ways.

"Toyota expects to import only 4900 units for the 2023 model year, so expectations are modest.
...
We probably won't get the yoke-steering version in the first year, and a front-drive model might eventually appear at a somewhat lower price."

If the 4900 units for 2023 is true, the RZ450e would not be a real EV player this year.

It does seem generally underwhelming, and the silhouette is too similar to the bz-Terra, but at least Lexus understands how a yoke steering wheel is supposed to function, so there's that.

Worse yet it will most likely have the same horrific charging performance too.

I believe the Lexus is getting the Panasonic pack which will go from 0-80% in about 30 minutes (150kw). The range is still most likely bad.
