Anyone with custom plates end up losing one? I lost my front plate.

When requesting for a duplicate plate at dmv, is it immediately or will the mail you new ones?

I ask because the process said to return the left over plates. But don't i need it drive?

I am just guessing, if they require you to surrender the remaining plate they probably provide you some document that satisfies the required plates statute.
I wish I remembered from a few years ago when I bought an out of state car and surrendered those plates.
