Lift gate arm repair after bolt sheared.

Turns out to be an easy fix. Tesla has a great website for parts. epc.tesla.com
They won’t let you order them online but you can pick them up from your local Tesla service center. The bolt that sheared cost $1.10 and I reused the fastener. Even the power lift gate arm was reasonable at $110….but I didn’t need to buy it.

If anyone needs help I’m happy to answer any questions.

Hmm. Good question. I’ve had the car for 10 years now. Sometimes over the years, with oversized items I’ve put in the trunk, I’ve left the lift gate half open to transport the stuff. I bet that created some side loads the bolt wasn’t designed for. That’s my only guess.
