Liftgate opening height memory erased. Trunk hit the garage door...

My trunk just hit the garage door and I got my first two scratches

I programmed the liftgate opening height when I got the car in March and it has worked just fine until now.

I updated to 12.10 the other day. Can that have anything to do with the opening height being erased?

That sucks! This is my worst nightmare. I don't trust the limit set and always think it's going to hit the garage door.

I haven't trusted it enough to open it in my garage. Especially since the anti-crush protection isn't very friendly.

Tesla should be setting the default height lower..somewhere in the middle to clear the majority of 7' garage doors for this exact scenario.

Might be nice if:

1. They didn't lose settings.
2. If they did lose the setting, default to barely opening. Fail safe.

Sounds like a great area to put clear bra so when, not if, it happens, you won't have any damage.

I've started putting foam tape on my garage door, been trying to think of all the places it might hit, haven't done a full line of it yet, just a few spots.. but might have to rethink that now and just go full overkill!

The worst part about this hatch is that even when fully open it's actually not that high, something to do with the design I guess, but I could easily fit under the lift gate on my crv and it wouldn't touch the garage door when in the open position. Ok the MY i really have to duck now
