Lightening strikes home wall charger can it be repaired?

A freak lightening strike to my garage knocked out all circuits. All other outlets were and brought back. Had to order a new wall unit. Anyone have any experience in restoring wall units?

I’d recommend you don’t. A house fire isn’t worth it. Just buy a new one or file a homeowners claim then replace it.

I guess you can do anything if you have enough time and money. But you'd probably be better off just buying a new one.

I'd suspect it was not grounded properly. So was the circuit it was connected to also damaged ?

If it is a Tesla one, try contacting them and see if they would be willing to replace.

Lightning struck my house once. Everything was properly grounded plus I had a whole house surge suppressor and a surge suppressor on my computer. Didn't matter. Everything was fried. There might be a fuse in your wall unit that can be replaced, but most likely the internal electronics were fried as well. Probably best to get a new one. FWIW, my insurance covered everything (and then they raised my rates!).

Thanks for you response. As I stated in my question, I had already ordered a replacement (arriving today). Just wondering if anyone had ever repaired their wall unit as a result of lightening/ electrical surge.
