Great find, thanks much for posting. I'm hoping for the Titanium to appear soon.

There was an obsidian black next to it, lighting was terrible so couldn't get a nice pic.

It was a metallic black tho

I talked to Tesla Sales and Delivery guy today about ordering for Fall delivery (6 months ahead is limit) and asked about new colors coming out. He said that no new colors have been announced.

Which is perfectly true. We know they are working on the cars and two people have seen the ocean blue (one of them also saw the obsidian black), but it hasn't been officially announced yet and regular Joe-schmos can't order it yet.

Not sure why they need the new paint shop to run new colors - they have run 10 colors in the past and are currently only at 7 in production now, so they should have 3 open systems for new colors. Fits nicely with the three new colors that seem to be floating around.

This is just my personal opinion, but the few cars in the new colors could have been part of a trial run of the new paint shop. While they totally could get the new colors through on the existing paint lines, Tesla has had a huge push to bolster the number of cars produced and delivered by the end of this quarter. It would be surprising that alongside this goal, they would shut down an entire paint line for a bit to do a few cars in the new colors. To me at least, it makes more sense to have a "trial batch" through the new paint shop to test it out, and use the new colors for that to get them ready for a press viewing or as demos to galleries. While that is one less car to ship out, it doesn't shut down the paint line while they switch colors and rumor around here is that paint is one of the slowest parts of production process.

I pick up mine this week. I'm going to cry that I didn't get this color!

I know what you mean. Mine's waiting to enter production, and I love that new blue so much. Do I delay my order until the blue is announced? Or do I take the multi-coat red and be happy, but disappointed that it's not the blue I wanted? Argh! I hate this delayed gratification. If they'd just say "the new paint colors will be released in Month X" so that I at least know how long I have to wait, I'd do that.

I'm in the same boat. We were supposed to have taken delivery of our P85D by now, but we asked them to push back production to April in the hope that the new blue would be available. It's not that I have any info on when the colors are coming out; I am just hoping that all the marketing ramp-up wouldn't have been done if the change wasn't imminent. Our delivery specialist at the factory couldn't give us any info on when the colors will come online, but he was nice about it and obliged us. Now I'm wondering if it's wise to be one of the first few cars out of the new paint shop or if we should have them build it in the silver we ordered in the first place. First-world problems!

Well, picked up my P85D yesterday, in the DARK blue. Beautiful, but still. . .

I asked about the new colors. Couldn't give me a date, but told me they already have the color panels that go in the showroom sitting in the back ready to go. So it might be close actually.

That's very encouraging, since they have to know the word would get out from the stores despite being told not to. I suspect they will wait until the beginning of April to avoid any disruption to Q1 deliveries. Yes, its too late to affect them, but people might try to cancel last minute to get the new colors (but I have absolutely no hard information to support this guess).

If anyone spots Titanium on a car, please post it, as I'm wondering if that would suit me more than the red I've ordered for a May delivery.

Now may be a good time to revisit the images of paint swatches at Tesla HQ from last year.

The color closest to the camera resembles AltPowr's Porsche blue color. The upper-left blue is along the lines of Topaz Blue. I'd be happy with any of these shades of blue, or the burgundy and green that are directly above them, just give me a color that's not bright red or black-ish.

Personally, I prefer colors like Topaz Blue, although I wouldn't care enough to pay more for it. (My Prius is red, although I most prefered their Blue Ribbon).

When getting a Volt, my wife was disappointed that they dropped the Topaz Blue and Viridian Joule from the 2014 line-up, and was mystified that the replacements were a dark gray and a brown. I think Chevy learned their lesson, because the 2016 Volt promos have all been a Topaz Blue-like color.

Tesla, if you're listening, the availability of a "Topaz Blue" would help sell the Model 3 to my wife. :p

Here's some evidence: I was scheduled to take delivery in Q1 but pushed out my delivery until the new blue is available. :)

+1. There are so many transporters dropping off cars for eoQ1 deliveries it is crazy.. Saw 4 on Wed this week in Seattle. Blue is a popular color and it's great to see TM respond to these requests, though there are so many shades of blue that it puts gray to shame ;-)
