Line waiters should get priority over online now

They were actually done online. All that happened when you stood in line, the salesperson opened up the Tesla site with a special login and then you typed in your information. The site handled it just fine.

True but it was controlled somewhat by Telsa "salespeople" entering the info and spreading it out over many hours in different time zones as oppose to hundreds of thousand of people individually on their computers trying to do it all at the same time when the ordering officially opened. Right?

Wow I feel for those people who are actually standing in line outside the Tesla stores for over two years. Everyone else went home after they put in their reservation.

Well, not much point staying in line when you open the box and find a car picture. An iPhone box oddly has an iPhone inside. Very strange indeed.

There is something very socialist about the situation. In the USSR, you could wait over 2 years for a car. If you were high enough up in the government, you got one immediately.

Nothing is actually new. We just recycle history. Think of it as conservation.

Yeah, ok. But in reality it's not hard to build a website that can handle 100'000 new entries per day on AWS.

We built one last year in a couple of months that easily handles 10'000 new entries per second, using two guys who have never worked on AWS before.

It's not the 90's anymore :).
