Alright so I posted this in another thread and someone sent me a message and suggested I make a new thread for this (maybe sticky? moderators?) to provide a comprehensive list of the needs/wants of Model S owners for future implementation.
Most of these features are already present in competitor brands.

Feel free to post your own needs/wants and I'll try my best to keep this post updated.

Note: Please post only things that are either wanted/needed by the majority or something that if changed/added does not affect others negatively.
Good example: Creep mode was added. People who wanted it can turn it on. People who did not want it can leave it off.
Bad example: Headliner material change. You may want/like a particular new material and want Tesla to change to your preferred material, but others may think that alcantara feels more premium and is a better fit for this car.
This will NOT be added to the list since there is no clear majority consensus and a change may negatively affect others.

1) heated steering wheel (Leaf and many ICE cars)
2) heated rear seats (Leaf and many ICE cars)
3) paddle shifters for regen level (Cadillac ELR), or no regen in Drive with heavy regen in "L" or "B" (Volt, Prius)

This is a good candidate for a wiki post.

· User-configurable gauge display with custom gauges (like ScanGauge)
· Access to real-time vehicle performance/sensor data including motor, inverter, coolant, battery temperatures, rpm, battery voltages, current, etc. (similar to ScanGauge programmable X-gauges)
· Access and ability to download basic logs (energy consumption, trip data, etc.)

Fog lights
Longer sunshades with lighted mirrors
I've heard others complain about a lack of a place to hang one's jacket/dry cleaning

Still a most awesome car!

I am reminded of "The Homer" where Homer Simpson wants everything and the car ends up costing too much.

I think a prioritized list of items might be useful as well as a laundry list.

I would rank my list:

1) Center console (which is coming).
2) Chademo adapter at a reasonable price. (<$200)
3) Power folding mirrors or cameras.
4) Adaptive cruise control.

BTW "The Homer" was $82,000.

All Wheel Drive!

In my case, this is mainly to appease the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans, which typically require snow chains on all 2WD vehicles in "winter" conditions in mountain areas, including where I live. We don't really need a Model X as opposed to a Model S; we just want a "no chains" pass.

Only two requests from me, in honor of father's day:

1. Ventilation for the rear facing seats, and better sun protection. (Honestly Tesla, duh... What were you thinking?)
2. Non-recessed seat buckles for the back-seat. You have no idea how old it is getting to wrestle my son's booster seat in a position where I can squeeze down the seat buckle. On our old car the buckles were kind of laying on top of the seat attached by a short piece of belt, that made them more accessible and easier to buckle. And yes, my six-year old is not a fat-ass and I bought the most narrow (and safest) booster seat I could find.

For number 2, try seat belt extenders. The first time I tried to buckle my girls in with boosters I ordered them. These are the rigid ones, flexible might have been better. 8" Rigid Car Seat Belt Extender 2-Pack (Type A) - Click & Go!

List updated and reorganized.

All valid requests prior to this post have been included.

Exception is the non-recessed seat buckle - See post #11 (Seat belt extenders) - as that will require a fundamental design change and other owners might prefer a recessed design (no clear majority either way here) so this is a personal preference thing.

I would contend that many of the things on your consolidated list are 'personal preference things'.

I know I couldn't care less about a lot of things on your list, and would actively dislike the addition of some of them.

Yep. Read the note at the bottom of the first post though. They are all optional/selectable/etc. Let me know if you spot any that is not.

For example, adding "creep" mode wouldn't affect you - you can just leave it off.

However, changing all the recessed buckles to unrecessed buckles is something that is irreversible. You can't re-recess it.
The alternative of them using the seat belt extender to extend it out of the recess ("unrecessing" it) would probably be more suitable as a compromise since you can extend something that's in a recess out of the hole but you can't stuff something in when there's no hole to stuff it anymore...

I don't see a "touring/sport" selector listed? (In "sport" mode, the suspension would prefer to be lower, and if there's ever adaptive shocks, firmer. Any stability-correction software would back off a bit. The accelerator would be remapped to have more acceleration at lower deflection. Automatically invoke aggressive regen, etc. In "touring" mode, the accelerator would smooth out inputs to attempt to improve range. Adaptive shocks would be softer. Stability control/nanny mode would kick in much earlier)

Limited slip differential would be a normal feature for a sporty car... (although I'd rather see them do something clever, perhaps by going to smaller motors so that they can put one in each wheel, and then just directly spin wheels faster when needed to improve turn-in and general cornering)

Okay so what mode do you reckon Model S is in right now without any selector? (How would you describe the current mode that has been factory programmed?)

I've long concluded that 40, 60, & standard 85kwh = touring cars whilst the P85 & P85+ = sport. Is that wrong?
