Is it near the casino? Could be a win/win. You supercharge while winning all of that money you spent on the M3 back at the tables :)

Or pay for the most expensive charger ever. New front page article: "Cost to charge M3 equal to full tank of gas of a Hummer H1"

But you're right, having every charging option available to me is important, so getting a chademo adapter is important. Do they work yet?

From April, Tesla

"The CHAdeMO adapter doesn't currently work with the Model 3, but it is expected that it will with a future OTA update."

I didn't know that, I thought it had support. Perhaps someone else will know.

I have not seen any indication that CHAdeMO is supported on Model 3's yet. The adapter is not cheap so I wouldn't buy one until you are absolutely sure it would work. Additionally, if you are not inclined to go to City Center then there would be little value since if you go any further, you may as well go to a supercharger.

@clydeiii , you might want to set up an account with Tezlab. That app will give you great insight into the power draw of your car, even while sitting idle. See: Welcome | TezLab

Honestly, my recommended approach would be to make a weekly trip to one of the supercharger locations. Eat dinner, do some shopping, and charge to 95% SOC.

I'm a week in now and that has been effectively what I've done. I just try to charge it where ever I go, and have visited National Harbor and Woodbridge Superchargers. It hasn't been too bad. Charge anxiety is dropping. I'm sitting at around 200 miles or range at the moment, and probably won't drive anywhere until the weekend, where I'll be able to back to a SC station.

Of course, the winter will be more challenging, and when I begin to commute up to Maryland each day in January, it'll require me to go to Laurel's SC station or hopefully there'll be a NE DC Supercharger by then.

Springfield is closer than Woodbridge (you pretty much have to pass Springfield to get to Woodbridge from DC), it has 18 plugs (vs 10 at Woodbridge), and some decent restaurants / shopping / entertainment. The Tyson's supercharger will be good as well, once it's built.

I haven't used them, but for what it's worth, Crystal City has several garages that are free if you enter after 4pm (and free all day on weekends), with free charging stations.

Yeah, it will give you insight into the power drain of your car that the app causes. Stop having third party crap communicate with your car and your vampire drain will decrease a lot.

And no, the Model 3 can not use CHAdeMO yet.

When I go my "S" four + years ago Tesla owners would be happy to help you out and let you charge at their house.
No longer, to many guys trying to get some free juice. If your down my way and are in need I would always help you out.
Even in Philly at one time you could get a spot on the street in front of the house for a charger. There did away with that.
Even the garages that are down town that have chargers ( mostly 2 ) are taken by the time you get there.

I think the electric company is missing out here. They could run a 220 line down every power pole and put a nema
plug on it. They could even sell a special plug that would let you charge at that location.
