I was reading through the step-by-step instructions for this:

http://www.elektromotive.com/pdf/Elektro_Instruct_Lft.pdf

and was wondering if there should also be some way to lock the other end of the charging cable into the charging port on the car (Electromotive say that they are happy to make yellow cables to fit any EV http://www.elektromotive.com/html/yellow_cable.php I guess other companies offer the same service.)

I know that there's a slide switch on the current design of the Roadster plug and, assuming that this secures the plug rather than simply tells the software to commence charging, it could be possible to include a lockable button which pops out as the switch slides forward and cannot be reset unless unlocked.

This would secure both ends of the cable while charging in a public place.
