Why, why, why does it have to be a leap year? We'd already be in the 30's if it weren't. Or maybe Elon is a genius and planned it this way so they'd have an extra day to get the M3 ready. Brilliant!

Because Elon was responsible for introducing the concept of leap year, specifically because of the Model 3, using a time machine he'll invent in another 20 or 30 years. Who says you need a Delorian? That's got nuthin on a Tesla!

By the way, folks, do you all realize that you're referencing a Tesla software "Easter egg" with 42?
Not to point out the obvious - but the reason for the 42 being the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything has nothing to do with Tesla.
So technically we aren't referencing the "easter egg" - the easter egg is referencing what 42 already was.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. 42 days applies to February 18. "Model 3" took advantage of the timezone in Norway to advance the countdown.

Hmmm and similarly, by the time it's March 31st at the launch event, other parts of the Internet will be enjoying April 1st.
I wonder which websites will be unable to resist linking Tesla Model 3 with April Fool.
