Hello TMC friends! Find My Electric here, with an update on our offerings...

If you're looking to sell your Tesla, we have updated our offerings and features! We are the #1 trafficked used Tesla site on the web, and #1 rated in customer service (where else can you pick up the phone and talk to a real person at any time?)! We currently offer 3 ways to sell your Tesla:

1) Featured Listing - $49

This is our lowest price ever on featured listings, and you get:
  • 20 photos
  • A free AutoCheck vehicle history report (AutoCheck is the same vendor eBay uses, and is far superior in our opinion to Carfax)
  • Featured on the homepage
  • Expert help pricing your Tesla (we will help you dial in the perfect price)
  • Bolded in search results
  • Listed above free listings
  • Listing analytics
  • Live support (phone, text, email)

When you list a featured car, we literally roll out the red carpet in customer service. We talk to Tesla buyers and sellers every day, and love interacting with the Tesla crowd! Click here to sell your Tesla.

2) Free Listing - $0

Yep, it's totally free to list on Find My Electric--and now free listings don't expire. You only get 3 images and no support (that's for paid listings only)--but it is totally free, and a great way to test the waters if you aren't sure you want to sell.

3) Instant Cash Offer

We've expanded our network of expert EV dealers across the US now, from coast-to-coast, and improved our system where they bid against each other to bring you competitive offers. No messing with private parties, or dealing with random algorithmic quotes from other big box instant offer sites. Talk to real people and get offers today.

Click here to get an instant offer on your Tesla!

We've also added some new features on our used Tesla listings page including a seat filter (many people have asked for this--they want to filter by # of seats, etc., looking for 6 and 7 seater vehicles). Click here to check out our used Tesla listings.

We are an official TMC vendor, and happy to be a part of the community. If you have any questions, please DM us here, or visit us at FindMyElectric.com to get in touch!

What's the average time it takes a car to sell?
Great question, Jake! Let us shed some light on that...

There are four main factors that really influence the time to sell a vehicle:

  1. Price (asking price, and final agreed upon selling price)
  2. Photos (this is huge--people often don't put enough time into their photos)
  3. Seller responsiveness (i.e. how active are sellers in responding to inquiries)
  4. Vehicle condition (clean title, no accidents, service/battery records, well cared for, etc.)

Like in many other things in life, price is the biggest factor. It can be hard to know what to ask, but when people pay to list (we have both free and paid options), we spend time to build them a comparable pricing report, and also work with the seller to help dial in a price. In contrast, free listings are totally free, but don't come with pricing help or support (and have less visibility on the site in general vs. paid listings).

The used car market (and subsequently the used Tesla market) has been hot for quite some time, and that does lead many people to ask more for their Teslas than the market supports, which does negatively influence buying demand (and also why we offer pricing help with paid listings).

Photos are extremely important, and help give buyers confidence in the vehicle and really help a lot with overall interest and clicks. Free listings are limited to 3 photos, where featured (paid) listings allow 20. Taking the time to clean the car and take great pictures really goes a long way.

Seller responsiveness is another key factor in the time to sell a vehicle. Some people list a car and check emails every few days, where other sellers are much more proactive--and the more proactive the seller, the quicker we see cars sell.

Vehicle condition is another important factor as Tesla buyers tend to be pickier in general than other types of vehicle buyers. So, vehicles that are well cared for with accident free histories tend to sell a bit quicker. That said, if your Tesla has been in a fender bender and repaired at a Tesla-certified shop, this isn't a big deal to many buyers--just be sure to explain it in the description and have repair records to back that up.

All that said, with these factors optimized, we see anywhere from a few days to a few weeks being typical in terms of sale time.

Also, it's worth mentioning that with our Instant Offer program, our EV dealers move very fast once an offer is accepted and deals can be completed in days without much trouble in many cases.
