Looking to trade MYP Rear wheels

What are the expected outcomes of such a swap, in addition to more even tire wear from full rotation options?

Small set:
  • Better fuel economy
  • Better performance in snow (with as/snow tire setup)
  • Potentially burn through rear tires more quickly
  • Maybe slightly less hookup on strong acceleration
  • Shifting understeer/oversteer in sharp turns
  • Less lateral acceleration
  • Load rating too low for rear (98 vs. 103)
  • Any impact on speedometer?
Large set:
  • Worse fuel economy (but noticeable?)
  • Worse in rain / snow
  • Slightly longer wear in rear tires
  • Better hookup
  • Shifting the understeer / oversteer balance in sharp turns
  • More lateral grip
  • Potential rubbing when turned all of the way / bumps
  • Any impact on speedometer?
Other thoughts?

That sounds about right, I primarily want to do this so that I can rotate tires. I have heard second hand that the rears will fit up front no problem. Seeing as how we can fit 305's on a model 3, I wouldn't think the Y would have any issues.

Personally, if I were to do this I would get the front wheels and put wide tires on the front narrow wheels at all four corners of the car, the way they come from the factory you have ZERO curb rash protection. Putting wide tires on the narrower wheels could mitigate this a bit.

I'll never understand how people curb their wheels, especially on a tesla. It literally warns you when you are close to something. Too many people just don't pay attention while driving I guess.

You just started your countdown to curb rash...

Keith

PS: If you go through a drive through you will have constant beeping from the warning system... I sold my Uberturbine wheels before I had a chance to mess them up.
