My first impression was disappointment at the impracticality of it. I mean… Only 250 miles range, effectively no cargo space, super-low ground clearance. Well, okay. It's not meant to be practical. It's a track toy and status symbol for the guy who already has 40 exotic cars in his garage, plus two private jets and a yacht. If you are that guy, go for it!
Not a Tesla Roadster competitor. At a glance they may look similar, but they're not. At all.
What this means for Lotus… While watching the video I had a number of moments of feeling Lotus have completely lost their soul, forgotten where they came from. Then I thought about it a little more and decided there's no need to flip out. They're only going to build 130 of these. Maybe they'll learn some lessons that they can apply to more realistic production cars.
