Lower cost Head-up display for model 3 & Y

A low cost £110 head-up[ display is now available for the model 3 & Y, for people that can't live without one...

That’s not really a HUD (my definition of that is projected on windscreen), rather a mini-dash?
Looks nice but to me the main interest of one is to have CarPlay/Android Auto integration…

It definitely doesn’t look out of place. But that’s essentially £110 to have a second speedo and nothing more… not sure I have a use for it…

If you need to connect to the OBD socket on the computer, it’s hard, so you may as well go the whole hog and get CarPlay as I did.

I do think a projected HUD would be a nice addition to the model 3, particularly if integrated with the navigation.

Not sure it'd add a huge amount but the current projected aftermarket HUDs all look a bit tacky

I think the i4 has a fairly well integrated one?

Well, it’s at least line of sight, but the size is, if anything, smaller than the one on the main screen.

I quite like it, in terms of it not looking like something stuck to the dash. The calculator style font would annoy me, as would the fact that it appears that it does not stay in sync with the main screen speedo. It actually seems like it shows a different speed in parts.

It's a very decent bit of kit and fitted in 10 mins tops.
