This is around a $1800-$2k upgrade. How much better can it be than the cost of lowering springs from Unplugged Performance?

It really depends how you'd use the car. For pure aesthetics, lowering springs are probably adequate. Although, you'll need to figure out how much shorter the damper/shocks life will be on shorter springs.

I had a Subaru STI that I put coilovers on and then aligned and corner balanced. It handled like a dream after that. It would rotate and the understeer was gone.

The Comfort coilover bodies are zinc plated though. Whether they are as corrosion resistant as the stainless bodies, no idea. But the zinc plating is there for corrosion resistance. I'd wager its a better combo than the stock painted strut and shock bodies though.

By a large margin, how much is that?

Can you comment on this @MountainPass ?

A few turns won't be an issue, but a large height adjustment will affect camber angles, which in turn affect toe angles. It isn't really scientific but I'd say half an inch would be the limit of how much I'd change the height without doing an alignment. - Jesse

Gotcha. I'm curious because I'm new to how this all works, does changing the height effects the rides and handling as a whole? Because I saw somewhere on the forum that you can adjust the height but it's completely different then the comfort or firm setting you click it at.

The height won't affect the ride quality unless you are at the extremes. If the car is super low, you will have less travel until the bump stop engages to prevent the car from hitting the ground. The Sports dampers are 2 way adjustable on the bodies themselves.
