Lowering Springs and Trailer Hitches - Model 3

I have a 2019 Model 3 LR AWD on 18" OEM rims. I am looking to lower it using HR Springs or similar, and was also considering an ecohitch installation to occasionally trailer bikes.

Anyone out there doing both of these things? I am concerned that the hitch itself will be too low and cause my grief. Hoping to learn by other folks experiences. Thank you.

The hitch will bottom out on moderately steep driveways.

If you lower the car it will definitely bottom out a LOT.

If you lower, probably want to get the stealth hitch so you can easily remove the receiver when not carrying bikes.

Instead of starting a new thread I also have the same question. Looking to lower my 21P3D I have the eco hitch and 1up rack. This is the closest combo I could find to keep the rack high and tight to the back of the car and it works great with no scraping.

I would love to lower the car around 1” and was wondering if anyone has a lowered model 3 and what their experiences are. Also if anyone knows of any springs for our cars that have a front rake to them. Like the look of the rear slightly higher than the front, this would also help me with clearance. Thanks.

I’m thinking I might be ok with a 1” drop. Guess I could always tape a 1” block to the bottom of the bike rack and drive around and see if it hits anything.

Update for anyone looking to lower a Model 3 and also use a bike rack. I have lowered my car with Eibach springs and it brought the hitch much lower than anticipated as you can see in the pictures. Good news is I haven’t had any problems with clearance. The hitch clears speed bumps, speed humps, and standard parking curbs. Only time will tell how it works, but so far so good.

It drove and handled great today taking the bikes. No scraping the ground just a little sag in the rear but not noticeable while driving.
