Today (Apr 8) I got my LR AWD (no FSD) white model Y 20'' delivered in Fremont California.
Although prepared, I was still surprised with how big the car really is, in person. I drive a Acura RDX, MY feels significantly longer and bigger, with much more room in the back row. White with black looks amazing in person.

despite all of these, I don't see myself returning it. i hope most of these are fixable by a service appointment.

what's your take? is this average? am I really unlucky? am i just too picky? any deal breakers for you if it were you? anything you think service won't be able to fix? what would you do if you were me?

I would really appreciate some advice here. Thanks!!

At first I was thinking your being a little harsh with all those "sand" pics few of them looked like just normal body sealer, but got to the pics after 2020-04-08-20-13-43-jpg OK that is odd. Why would Tesla even authorize that stuff to be used? The touch ups on the bumper are a joke. I'd be upset about these defects but know Tesla will make it up in the end. This is something Id expect to see just before the QTR end rush but not now after time to correct factory problems.... Early Mod S seats got swapped by the truck load. what is your vin range?

If you chose to keep it, I'd expect fully repainted bumper covers. Those touch ups aren't acceptable. You also need a new windshield.

Everything else is easily fixable...but repainted bumpers and the windshield would need to be agreed to before I'd accept that.

What's the policy to reject? On the spot, no? It's been overnight though less than 24 hours.

If you have signed the paperwork and taken delivery it is too late to reject. If you return it you can't order another one for 12 months. (It says same trim level which could mean you could switch between AWD and Performance, but I have heard Tesla tell people that your only choice is to order a different model.)

From all I've read, Tesla makes good on this type of stuff post delivery. I wouldn't panic just yet. I see nothing there they is not fixable..assuming your service center is good (being Freemont..I'd hope).

Man, normally I'd say power through...but not with this level of issue. They need to learn a lesson. Also, if you are able to wait long enough, you can get the MY with the heat-pump covering (for quieter running).

I would have rejected it. Now that you have it though, I'd have Tesla fix the issues. You have a lot of easy fixes and nothing major so it's likely you'll be happy in the end. I wouldn't worry about any of the "sand paint" stuff that is hidden behind the lift gate.
