Took delivery of my stealth last night in Costa Mesa. It was the second stealth i was matched to. I couldn’t take delivery of the first one since i was out of town during thanksgiving. I didn’t think it would be a problem because i was told the vehicles would be ready in 1-2 weeks. But the first stealth was ready in 5 days and the second stealth was ready in 7 days.

Anyways, i got a call from delivery specialist that my vehicle would arrive around midnight and i could take delivery in evening.

She's a beauty - congrats! Love the wheels! I'm torn between what you got vs. a red w/18s. Enjoy the (s)miles!

Picked up yesterday from Buena Park. I've never driven such a fun and incredible car. The thing is stupid quick too. I was in and out of the showroom in about 30 minutes.

Congrats! It is fast! Faster than anything I have ever driven.

I just looks like a harmless smaller car that is styled well - until you step on the gas and literally fly! It's not only fast, but the instant acceleration is awesome.

Well, be careful, that is one serious speeding ticket machine. I like it in white too - kind of glows in the So Cal sun.

I love the wild reactions the first time I take people for a ride and launch it. Nobody has got in and not said something shocking.

So, seems like lots of people taking delivery on stealths ! My turn is coming up next week. So...what’s it like? You like it or you love it? Any regrets?

I live in Downey and we have two supercharger 'stations', and I have yet to see another red model 3 in town... (I really wanted a white interior, but didn't want the 20" rims of the + car)

I've only had the car 10 days, and it's great... teslafi is very cool and informative, lets you know how much each of your drives 'costs'.

I went out for a 50 mile joyride, and it cost me about 2 bucks in power, and i wasn't driving eco friendly...

I took delivery before I had my power situation figured out at home (i took delivery almost a week early), and actually didn't turn out to be a big thing, i have a short commute for work, and now with the 14-50 installed, can recoup all of my daily miles in less than an hour.

Installed the CANBUS/OBD adapter and ScanMyTesla and having all of the stats is pretty damn cool, even if you're not using the data for anything except validating that the car does what it's supposed to.

Well, the month-and-a-half long journey to delivery has finally ended, and Red Comet (it literally is three times faster than my last car's 0-60 speed!) is in its loading bay. The Model 3 is both the smoothest and most exciting car I've ever driven.

Delivery experience: hilariously, I got a text an hour before I left to pick it up warning of big crowds and that it might be a good idea to arrive an hour late...only to find nearly no one there when I got to Buena Park! Clearly I got my vehicle before the huge December rush, and it was such a relief to not have to feel rushed by the delivery staff. Paperwork was literally five minutes. I remembered how long it had taken me to buy my previous cars and I smiled: yes, this is how things should have always been.

Flaws (or, the lack thereof): I took my friend with me to the delivery center to do some exterior inspection while the DA showed me the ropes on the car. He found almost no flaws whatsoever, save for one: there was a somewhat misaligned plastic guard at the bottom left side. We pointed it out to the DA, and he took it to the service center. I went back to the waiting room, prepared to settle down for at least half an hour to an hour...and then the DA comes back five minutes later. It's fixed. We were ready to go, less than an hour after we arrived—and that's with the repair of the minor flaw.

I was shocked how effective the Hold mode regenerative braking was. I came from a Prius Prime so I'd done regenerative braking somewhat before, but this was a whole new experience. I'm already mostly used to it.

The Prime's adaptive cruise control was primitive compared to the Tesla's, and I had no idea that autosteer would take such a huge load off my mind in semi-heavy traffic. I barely noticed that the 91 was half-jammed on the way home. This is going to make commuting so much less stressful.

Having never driven a fast car, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to handle the P3D's instant acceleration, but my fears were quickly allayed. The car accelerated confidently, but never in an out-of-control way. I'm so used to pushing the accelerator hard to get even acceptable passing speeds and so this was a revelation...I didn't know a car could handle so precisely and responsively.

I was also afraid of some of the reports that cabin noise would be an issue. Nothing could be further from the truth. The ride was almost alarmingly quiet, not to mention smooth—not quite Lexus smooth, but much smoother than any other car I've owned. Rather than excited and giddy, a minute into driving I was...calm. Peaceful.

Oh, and the cherries on top? I saw a cone on the screen on the way home: so it's got HW3. It came loaded with v10 already, and it updated itself to 2019.40.2 when I got home. I've got the latest and greatest.

Driving the Model 3 really does, like many people have said, feel similar to the leap from a flip phone to the first iPhone (which I had, incidentally). You feel like you're driving 10 years in the future.

In short, this has been by far the most positive car buying experience I've ever had, for the best car I've ever had. None of the horror stories I've heard on these forums and elsewhere came to pass. I wish everyone who is about to endure the end-of-year rush the best of luck and that you'll get the car of your dreams. Owning a Tesla has been my dream for the past five years, and it feels so good to have that one come true.

I don't think you can pay taxes and fees separately on credit card, it has to be in your account for ACH or check. Sorry for being the bearer of the bad news.

Hey friends, quick question.. when picking up your car can you pay for taxes and fees separately with a credit card and the down payment as a check?
Picking up tomorrow!

Haha it’s all good was trying to get some POINTS! Lol

Yes ( Indirectly, you can charge the taxes/fees/deposit), No (Not directly)

I charge all my mortgage payments and Property tax on my miles card or 2% cashback card. (indirectly :) )

This all I have to say on this question.

I’m sure this has been asked before but any idea why a brand new car has 50 miles on it? I might be being picky but just wondering.
It appears to be a standard value that they put in the MVPA, perhaps to indicate that at most the car has 50 miles. My MVPA has that value, but the actual odometer value was 9 miles. So chances are your car will have a lot less than 50 miles on it.

went for a test drive on 11/14 for LR AWD and the sales guy told me they just got a stealth model in so i test drove both. and for $2k extra, no brainer going with a stealth model. went back on 11/15 with my wife for her to test drive the stealth model and that was it. luckily, they had some stealth models available in NJ and NY area so did the paperwork that night and picked up the car on 11/16. it happened fast since 11/16 was the only day we could get the car before being out of the country for a while. we def got lucky with timing. the only bad thing is i only got to drive it that night and next morning about 40miles before leaving it in the garage for 2 months! :( the best car and the fastest car i've driven in my life so far!:D

Yep but it won’t have 50 miles. Mine had 4 miles.
50 miles is a standard number for CYA purposes. Often a lease has to record numbers and if some had a car with an underestimate hypothetically they would be cheated out of a few miles. It is easier to just out 50 on all know they will be ten or less.

My delivery appointment confirmation says "model 3 performance" for "your car" for a stealth order instead of how its named elsewhere ("long range AWD performance"). I'm sure its probably normal but wanted to check what others were seeing. My previous order was an P3D+ so making sure they didn't mix up that one with this one.
