LR AWD Waiting Room

My guess is you'll get a car this month. They deliver a ton to hit their quarter end push. Just be patient. I ordered 8/3 and I'm picking my car up on 9/14. They are incentivised to deliver your car as soon as possible!
Thanks that is helpful. I thought there would be a Q3 push so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Also good to see that there are folks in Socal (and this forum generally) who have been waiting patiently!

Update 9/12/2019

  • 9/7 - Order placed on website (LR AWD, White/black, aero, no FSD) and got the usual emails from sales rep and delivery specialist
  • 9/9 - Went shopping for auto financing (837 credit score, Six figure income, etc)
    • TechCU - REJECTED (even though I am current customer, WTF) - will send me reason for rejection through mail
    • Lightstream - REJECTED - no reason given
    • Texall - approved for 4.49%
    • Alliant - approved for 4.49%
    • Andrews Federal Credit Union - approved for 3.99% (with GAP insurance)
  • 9/10 - spoke with all the approved credit unions and will be moving forward with Andrews. Super nice, very responsive and easy to work with
  • 9/11 - Submitted paystubs, insurance, drivers license and standard stuff to Andrews
  • 9/12 - On Tesla website I put I will be financing through Andrews
    • Two minutes after I hit submit, I get a text to schedule delivery for 9/24
    • VIN has been assigned (checked through the View Source method)
Just waiting for the MVPA at this point and should be good to go.

This is moving faster than I thought! I am hoping that delivery day is accurate!

Hi all, I got a call from my SA yesterday afternoon and she told me that their schedules came out for next week and they are transferring several sales agents from each location into the Buena Park and Costa Mesa delivery centers next week. She said when they do this, it means they have a ton of scheduled cars coming in for delivery so although she couldn't guarantee anything, she expects I will get it next week. This is for OC, possibly LA and/or San Diego but OC for sure.

@soulreaver99 Wow that was fast. Sucks you were rejected by your own Credit Union.

I am trying to get in touch with Tesla today to cancel our initial 8/20 order (without a VIN) and keep the 9/12 order (with a VIN). So far no ability to get a quote on Tesla Insurance. Wrote to my Credit Union to submit the VIN and other paperwork, still have to send over the Purchase Agreement once Tesla creates it. I agree, things are moving fast but after waiting a few weeks I am glad they are. PPF installer is aware of the timeline and is ready to start wrapping the car after delivery.

Update:

8/26 ordered LR AWD, MSM/Black, 18" aero, FSD in Denver, CO
9/12 VIN appeared in source code overnight and showed up on the account page shortly after, texted with 9/17 delivery date. Rescheduled to 9/16.

Denver delivery center has been great to work with so far. No complaints besides the radio silence while waiting.

Ordered on 8/19/19
LR AWD
Black Exterior
Black Interior
Aero Wheels
Auto Pilot

No vin yet
No contract yet

I waited a week and a half calling and leaving 4 messages in 4 days. The recorded message said I would be contacted in 24 hours. Finally on the 4th day I was texted saying it would be another 2 to 4 weeks. Anytime i call all I get is voicemail telling me I will be contacted in 24 hours.

No vin yet and my 2 week "estimate" is now 17 days. I do not mind the wait for the car. Others waited years and say it was well worth the wait. What annoys me is the complete lack of communication and keeping me in the dark. If I was contacted and told they were trying to get the cars to China or Europe then great. At least I know. From what I am reading most people don't mind the wait at all but feel no love from Tesla when they are waiting for updates due to no communication.

I have bought a few cars new in the past. I love how I can go online and buy a car and know that I don't have to deal with shady car sales people.

So I got tired of waiting and I saw a pretty Blue with white interior Model 3 at Salt Lake City so I contacted them and they are assigning the Vin to my account a we speak. It is enroute and should arrive tonight so I could be picking it up tomorrow. Sad I though I had to do the work to find the car. No one reached out and asked me.

That color combination is super sharp. It was my second choice behind white on white. Congrats!

@Yeldah I agree completely. On one hand it's annoying that my SA didn't figure this out or handle this for me, however it's been pretty consistently disappointing. At least the end result should be what I wanted!

Just checked my account page - got my VIN and delivery date! Interestingly, I didn't get a day's notice from the page source for the VIN; it was just there today alongside my delivery appointment time. I have not received an email or SMS from Tesla as of yet, though.

Ordered 20 August
VIN 12 September
Pickup 15 September

The decade-long wait is nearly over.

Hope this is true for SD as well. No response from my SA though.

Cross posting from another thread, but this is my truth:

I must admit, ordering from existing inventory is DEFINITELY the way to go. This morning I found a car configured to what we ordered (been waiting 3 weeks for the VIN) so pulled the plug and ordered it online. Called Tesla to cancel the original order and verify new one was in place. By noon we had gotten the funding completed with my credit union, scheduled delivery for Saturday, and as a bonus got the 2000 mile referral bonus over the original 1000 mile bonus.

Order Date: 8/9
Config: White M3 AWD LR - White Interior - 18in aero wheels
No VIN.
No estimated delivery.
Live in Fremont.

Sales Advisor won't pick up my calls/reply to my texts. Absolutely terrible customer service from Tesla.

Update: Talked to a Delivery Specialist at the Fremont hub (my pickup location). She said they will likely start production for my car around 9/24. Ordered 8/9. My trust in Tesla is completely gone at this point so I asked her if I’d get the car by New Years she said hopefully

I jumped on this so quick and was able to get matched. Super stoked!
I live in Orlando and just checked and see a bunch of AWD LR Cars available. I just e-mailed my Sales Rep and she e-mailed me back letting me know she'd Match me tomorrow. Order 09/05, and was expecting Mid-October. My current ICE Lease doesn't end until Halloween but I just want to get this car and also don't want the loan approval lapse, as I do not want another hard credit run.
