What bothered me the most was when I complained about my issues to the delivery specialist. She told me after speaking to her manager, their tolerance level is 4cm!! Are you kidding me?!! 4cm is 1.5 inches! Ultimately since there wasn't any paint issues, I'll test my luck with the service center to fix these alignment issues. Also I forgot to mention that the gap between the hood and bumper is larger on the driver side vs the passenger side -_-
Honestly, if it's that bad, I'm not planning on accepting it.

I don't need this car. None of us do. Yeah it's an awesome machine, but there are lots of awesome machines out there, especially for the price we are paying.

I'm going to guess that you misheard and the actual value is 4 mm.

If it makes you feel better, I have noticed that when people are looking for imperfections, they more than often find them. Take a look at some Mercedes at a showroom. I bet they have problems too. True, Tesla tends to have more of that in it's cars - especially Model 3's - but I bet it's a random freak occurrence to have a really badly assembled car.

Did your delivery specialist say 4cm, or was that a typo on your part? If she said it, she is an idiot and needs basic math training. 4cm?!! I thought I heard somewhere that Tesla's "spec" was within 2.5mm. Perhaps I am wrong.

Please just enjoy the car. In a week it won't be so bad. Hopefully the service people can fix what is still bothering you.

There is a lot of truth in what you are saying. The whole experience is becoming a bit nuts. It is a hard decision, and we just need to decide for ourselves how much of what we step in we have to eat.

It is an awesome car, or people wouldn't deal with all of this.

You guys really need to stop defending Tesla this much. Criticism and scrutiny leads to refinement and better products. My job is to look for problems before I sign on the dotted line. Who pays all this money for a car and don't expect near perfection upon pick up? In the past 5 years, ive owned and/or sold a 2015 Subaru STI, 2016 BMW M3, 2018 Honda Civic Type R, and 2018 Toyota Prius Prime. All of these cars i've carefully examined before I signed my papers. Why? Because if there's a scratch anywhere on the paint, the dealership would blame me after i've driven it off the lot. While only the Toyota had a scratch to the bare plastic (dealer's fault during transport, I made them repaint it) NONE of them had panel gaps like my model 3. Look, I'm still gonna enjoy the car and I'm still crazy excited about it but I work hard for my money and it leaves a sour note when you spend $50k for a car built like this.

Looking back at a prior post, someone said she probably meant 4MM. Im gonna assume she mispoke and meant 4mm because 4cm is crazy.

I had a Type R as well! Along with a 2015 STI, several N54’s and a 2010 Prius. I sold my Type R I’m favor of the P3D haha.

I fee like I'm the toned down version of you guys. I currently drive an Si (didn't want to pay for the Type R), and have had a 2016 WRX that I really loved (didn't want to pay for the STi).

On the flip side, the other cars I've had are Wranglers and Vettes. I went to the other spectrum of gas mileage.

I actually agree with your criticism of Tesla. I just am advising that you calm down about it - as all you can do is go and get these items fixed. Many of the SAs are idiots. And I think even 4mm is out of spec.

A lot of things we get to deal with are in the “I didn’t sign up for this” category. We didn’t sign up for a lot of this crap.

4cm is crazy, and just tells me that you were dealing with a total idiot. But try to enjoy this thing as much as you can. You have only one recourse to deal with these defects now.

Great minds think alike lol. Do you miss driving stick?
Surprisingly, I do not. Since driving the Model 3 Performance and now owning a Model X, I appreciate more of the comforts than I do of the engagement of driving a manual. Not that I'm really old or anything, but I am seeing value in comfort more than I am in shifting.

Not to mention, the Type R seats, granted comfortable, was WAY too static for me. It's great for a race seat, but overtime, became obnoxious due to personal preference. Although I sold it, I think it was one of the best driving cars I've owned and I do miss that car for how it drove, not just because of it's transmission (even though it was precise as heck), but because of the dynamics and feel. Reminds me of my S2000, but better.

One of the few ICE cars, actually the *only* one (unless you count my CBR), that I'd love to own again some day. Loved that car!!!

In the same boat! I'd always think of getting another one, then I think of how I just don't have space for anymore cars. It would sit more than I'd drive it, but I'd love to just have one again haha. Extra fun car to rev out to redline in!

I might be getting excited over nothing... but either my account is being updated or Tesla's servers are down haa haa.... When I go to my account it shows me a page I've never seen before (suggesting I order a Model S or X and no "Manage" button)....

Then I refreshed a bunch and now I have the page back (picture of what I ordered and a "Manage" button), but no matter how many times I hit "Manage", nothing happens. And also, the Tesla app on my phone no longer loads.

I'm sure it's just a technical issue.... but I keep thinking they're adding my VIN to my account haa haa.

Here is what I was seeing (obviously not my Tesla). And if you scrolled down, they also had a Model X and Powerwall they were suggesting I order...
