LR RWD Waiting Room

Hello,
I am currently in the process of trying to get a used model 3 in my price range. I also would need quite a bit of range. So far the ones I can find are LR RWD. I put money down to see one that has a low VIN. I'm afraid that the VIN is too low to be worth it. SN is 004902. Is it worth it at 40k? What should I be looking out for?

New to this thread and read through a bunch of the posts. I see back on July 5th/6th a post about taking more orders of the LR RWD, wondering if anybody had done so, and if they have received there vehicle? I happened to have placed my order for a LR RWD black on black, 18” aero wheels, AP and FSD back on exactly July 5. I never received any messages about needing to cancel it or change options. Was told they were running delivery out 6-8 weeks from that point. I have just eclipsed 7 weeks, and next Friday will be week 8 (this was specified as “estimated delivery”, so I understood it was not concrete). As I am currently borrowing a vehicle, I emailed my delivery specialist about 2-3 weeks ago to see if she had any idea of ETA, and she responded that she would let me know when the VIN was assigned, but not sure where it is in process at that point. I must have been in that last group of orders and am awaiting that final run??? Wondering when that will be or if anyone in my spot (or close) has had any updates. Thanks for any input

Ive been waiting on a LR RWD with black interior since end of May. I've been told that LR RWD orders with white interior will not be fulfilled and Tesla is trying to decide what to do with the people with black interior. Not sure why the interior color matters so much.

They may not have enough orders of the white to do another production run.

I got a text from Tesla yesterday sayiong that my LR RWD was in transit. I also talked to my local store and they gave me the VIN so I guess they're starting to fulfill the LR RWD.

It would be great if this was an indication that Tesla might begin producing the LR RWD again!

Just an update, I called the Costa Mesa Delivery Center today about my LR AWD White/Black and they said they didn't have much information other than delivery by the end of the month. He then asked me if I would be interested in the LR RWD since there were several on of them on a truck on the way down. He said they would give me the 2 years of unlimited supercharging if I wanted to switch so I did and took delivery today! He said he didn't know why they had them since they were discontinued and that it was a super high VIN so just built. It had the pedestrian warning system so it was definitely built after September 1st. If there are people waiting, they are on their way!

It was cheaper than the AWD model. Around $2K less.

For 2k, I would have stayed with the AWD. Back when I got my RWD, the difference was 4k and I couldn't justify it, but for 2k I would have jumped on it. Just MHO

I didn’t get one of the screaming hot deals but I was able to score one for 44.8k LR RWD - an MSM 18” with FSD. Very early VIN though - <1000 with 10/17 build date and 11/17 inservice date. Delivery date scheduled for end of the month.

Black, black, sport rims.

We have and X and now 2 models 3's. Both Model 3's are LR RWD but the new one seems to have some differences. Basic summons isn't appearing on the app or in the car menus and Homelink is missing. We ordered in May so Homelink should be there. Not sure what the deal is with summons. It does have the pedestrian warning system which we couldn't even hear in the car. I guess you can hear from the outside though...or we're losing our hearing.
