LR RWD Waiting Room

I just called this morning and was told by an advisor that it would take about 2 weeks for delivery of a LR RWD. I was told to just order a LR AWD from the site and provide my advisor the RN#.

Is this the usual on ordering the LR RWD?

I don't think so. Here in the Bay Area we're sick with showrooms, so I'll just go in there when I'm ready. But I wouldn't put in an order for a car you don't want. That seems off to me.

While 2 weeks sounds optimistic (would be great if true) ; the rest of it mirrors what I heard recently.
Place the online order for LR AWD and have your sales rep change it in their system to RWD which will adjust the pricing.

I asked my rep about timing but have not heard back yet.

Is there any way to see if these are inventory cars? There’s a 2018 Long Range RWD red car for like $44.6k with ~1800 miles on it! It does have one small paint chip (small enough that the Tesla paint repair kit probably would take care of that) and one equally as small chip on the windshield (down where the VIN is, so not in eye line). WHO trades in a car with that little miles though?! Wouldn’t that have been like $49k before tax? They’re taking a ~$5000 loss after like two or three months worth of driving? Or is it likely this was an inventory car?

Yes this is normal. For me my advisor told me to order a SR+ and he changed it for me.

well he was not of much help for me. Added my OA and Delivery specialist and said he couldn't see any update on his end. So not really sure who at Tesla has access to look and see where my reservation is in the queue. Really starting to feel like i am getting the run around on this whole process.

Man, this really sucks. I had the Tesla "run around" as well, but not as bad as you. Hopefully something happens where you get your car. We are all rooting for you!

So my advisor informed me that they do indeed come out in batches, so more people = faster. BUT this is Tesla so take it with a bucket of salt. However, on the off chance this is true, please put your orders in, maybe we can get @jvmoore1 his car!

I had to drop away from the LR RWD, just can't leave a $2500 state tax credit on the table since it was over $45k. Oh well, good luck guys, and I placed my order for my SR+

Sadly I'm stuck behind DMV bureaucracy getting my vehicle imported and plated before I can use it as a trade-in, probably another 3-4 weeks. I very much hope @jvmoore gets his car before then.

The past month has been about avoiding the $2800 California sales tax they wanted to charge me on the car I brought down from Canada. I've just gotten approval that I don't have to pay that- so even though I missed out on the $3750 tax credit, it would have been moot if I'd just eaten it and paid the tax. So I'm waiting for that approval notice in the mail, then I send that on to the DMV and wait another 3 weeks for them to turn around plates and a pink slip!

I have a good feeling that you will get a VIN in the next week. Fingers crossed for ya.

I was able to whine my way into moving the delivery from the 20th to the 15th. Really stoked and have a pile of accessories and the 3D maxpider floor mats ready for install!

so just got off the tesla chat. i now have a delivery advisor who just emailed me. also, when i look at my page source there is a vin.
but, the vin is listed under inventory callback "/inventory/callback/5YJXCAE4XGF006813"

don't see that vin on ev-cpo, so not sure if it is mine or if i should be expecting a call trying to get me to switch

i think it was just a place holder from me chatting with the online rep. Model 3 Vins are 5YJ3...so even if the VIN was legit i would think it would be for the Model X.

EV-CPO is showing 65,100.00 for a MSM/black/aero wheels LR RWD located in Toronto

Depends on where you are in Canada (some provincial incentives can come into play and taxes vary), but in Ontario the difference from SR+ to LR RWD post tax (including the $5000 Federal Incentive) is about $12,800 CAD.
