LTE Network outage

called tesla customer service
they say its due to issues on the provider end
looks like a system wide outage
no timeline as to when this gets fixed
I highly doubt it if this issue is with Carrier as phones does not have any connectivity issues.
Unless Tesla requested some specific changes to data bucket and/or additional filters (mainly because of browser addition in Model 3) it is unlikely Carrier issue.

AT&T has had a major outage over the last 24 hours. The initial problem was in Texas but it has effected a multi state area (including Washington). If Tesla uses ATT for LTE then that could be the problem
No, there is no outage of AT&T network. Been using ATT service early morning today, and no outage.

If there is nationwide ATT network outage, there would be lot more noise, plastered all over Engadget(which is owned by Verizon).. :)

Att lost a pop in dfw which affected uverse. There is no fiber outage affecting fiber to lte sites. Unless tesla uses magic to communicate with the towers there is no reason to lose lte in cars while phones work. Its most likely an account /billing issu

Tesla probably uses different APN than AT&T's phones, which could uses different routing. In case of an outage AT&T will take care of their phone customer first to avoid a PR nightmare.

How does it explain somehow everyone was able to use their cell fine, but Tesla is not connected? Did you care to read comments in the same website. It is about ATT internet connection for home/businesses, Nothing to do with Wireless.

There was internet outage for Uverse customers in Dallas because of some data center issue yesterday( I heard fire due to lightening). Nothing to do with LTE back bones or wireless.
