Land Advisors Organization’s broker Kirk McCarville represented the Buyer, Pinal County, in the transaction of 80 acres from Vernon Lester Barnes on December 21, 2018.

The 80 acres are being used by Lucid Motors to develop an $800 million plant, with engineers planning to break ground in March or April of this year. In the next 4-5 years, Lucid Motors is expected to employee 2,000 people in the Pinal area, to help with production of the Lucid Air Car.

They are scheduled to break ground in AZ during the fall (October).
Sounds like it's a go
Should be interesting

Casa Grande preparing for Lucid's high-dollar Arizona car factory (Feb 18,2019)

The first phase, expected to be running by 2021, will be a $168 million investment in equipment and an $82 million property investment, according to the analysis presented to the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.

The factory initially will produce about 20,000 vehicles a year, Boike said. But plans for subsequent additions will bring the capacity to 130,000 a year, he said.

The vehicles will start at more than $100,000 but later a model in the $65,000 range is planned, he said.

Would be great to get an update from someone in the area.
Have they actually broken ground yet?

Why not? the car they've put together has no reason to be more expensive than a Model S 60 and they've priced it about the same,

There have been tons of people guessing that this car will be way more expensive than an S, this shows it will be about the same price, and there's no reason to think it shouldn't be, it's the same class of car.

I don't know why so many people think this car must be so much more expensive than the S when it's doing basically the same thing in basically the same way.
seat cost - oh, they will build their own seats:rolleyes:
great location for solar, A/C, paint drying, water no so much nor wild firers, I guess.

It is hard to predict, especially about the future. People who can afford $100,000 can buy whatever they want i.e. practicality matters not so much. Just 30,000 per year should work?

Noise Cancellation - head/ear phones the noise cancellation type. - easy.

Karma Killer for sure.

Rotated my tires today and always looking for an excuse to take a drive, decided to drive out to Casa Grande to see the Lucid factory site. It is big. There was quite a bit of activity. Not a beehive like the Tesla China factory, but there were people working and lots of earth movers parked on the site. Here are some phone photos.

They have made some progress since November 8, but they better get a wiggle on if they want to start producing cars here in late 2020. Looks like some trusses are being stored on site.
