So y’all are probably going to find this pretty simple (and I’d agree), but I hadn’t seen anyone else post this... I have a 2020 M3 and really wish I had the frunk hooks with the old frunk. Rather than buy the old frunk, I opted to buy some car trunk hooks (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XV5KW39) for a few bucks on Amazon and try those out.
The adhesive doesn’t cut it. Don’t even bother. But the hooks have pre-drilled holes, and do come with 1.25 inch screws and metal clips to help keep them from coming loose. Even those metal clips looked rather flimsy vs a gallon of milk sliding around the frunk, so I opted to get my own. I bought some #10-24 x 1 in round head machine screws (with nuts) and a few cheapo washers at Home Depot. Total added cost, under $2 I think.
Honestly, it took longer to remove and replace the frunk once I was done. Here’s the finished result. They feel very solid; I have no concerns they will allow my take-out or heavier items to break free or damage the frunk).
