With my eco hitch 2" receiver, just rented a 9 by 5 uhaul trailer to take old lumber to the dump from my recently purchased chalet.The trailer was 900 lbs and the load was 800 lbs and it worked flawlessly.
I won't be doing this often, but wanted to share my experience with the towing capacity of my 2020 M3.
I usually use the hitch to carry 3 Mountain bikes or my Laser sailboat, so this was the first time I used it for cargo and was pleasantly surprised.
