Just finished a three day trip from Sebastopol to Mendocino as our first road trip (MS85, Blue,Tan,Pano, Suspension, 19", Tech) WITH our Doberman. Stayed at the Stanford Inn by the Sea as it was listed in Recargo as having two 30 amp, 240 Volt, J1772 charge stations. GREAT TRIP! Wonderful hotel billed as "eco-friendly". Massages, yoga, canoe trips, hiking, biking, and the best vegan food I've ever had. Rooms are large and beautifully maintained. Spectacular flower and vegetable gardens. A spot for our car was reserved when we arrived. We were the only car using the charge stations for our three days.
We drove up on Hwy 128 which appears to be re-paved in the last year--beautiful winding, smooth roads. Came back on Highway 1--which also has a lot of new pavement. The trip could not have been better--we even had sunny weather for most of the trip. Highly recommended.
PS: Mendocino is very dog-friendly. The hotel even allows dogs in one part of the restaurant!
