9 months with 9000 miles on my car, and my main screen has been freezing a lot or reboot itself every other day. Does this have to do with software? Or hardware? any of you experiencing anything similar?

Try clearing your past navigation points.

Do you have a USB drive attached? That’s what scares my screen. “FAT16 or FAT32. Hidden files can sometimes cause indexing issues.”

Yes and I just change a new USB, no difference, still rebooting itself. This kind of issue is hard to take it in for service, but it is near impossible to replicate.

Have you tried to replicate reboots without that USB attached
Reboots went away once I removed the USB drive

If USB is causing the reboot. Does that mean that I can't play music from my USB?

No, Just reformat it and try again after you clear it up as the culprit.

Also getting partial screen freezing. New X, < 1 mo & 770 mi, system up- to-date. Several times the Nav system has frozen showing that I'm in a spot where I had been. When frozen can't use cruise-control or any of the autopilot features. Never have used a thumb-drive in the car. Only a few previous Nav waypoints. Rebooting doesn't help. "Correctes" itself overnight than happens again in the next day or two. Tesla support clueless. Any ideas?

I can't remember which cache (waypoints?), but deleting the cache seems to be necessary on occasion. I think it can only be done at the SC, so might be helpful to book an appointment.
