Bought my model 3 in may, had the wall charger installed, charged around 24amps at 25/mi an hour. Recently it dropped to 6amps and 5-6/mph.

Ive tried changing it in the car and resetting it. No luck. Can’t figure out how to get into the wifi settings on the wall charger to check it.

any ideas?

Plenty of posts about Gen 3 Wall connector problems.
Just read that after googling it for days. Do i have to replace the whole unit? Or just pull the cover off and put a new one on? Seems like Tesla should have to foot the Bill if i have to have an electrician come back out

It could also be a lose connection as if the car sees a voltage drop it cuts back the amperage to reduce the risk of a fire. With proper wire and good connections you should not see the bolts drop more than 2-3 volts.

There are some issues currently with 2018-2020 M3’s that is usually fixed with lates software update 36.15. My problem started the end of August and got worse until I ran this update yesterday. Now it’s charging normally again at home.

Call to schedule service and report your problem to service so the may hasten your software update.

Is there a fault code( eg flashing red light at the top of the green streaming lights)? If so, check the fault code in the install manual. The most common recent problem has been a faulty sensor in the plug. Call Tesla Power Wall support and describe the fault code. If your unit’s on WiFi they can download its data and confirm the issue. The heat sensor issue requires the unit to be replaced but it’s a four screw 20 minute do it yourself job. It’s under warranty.
