Major increase in delivery times... updates features coming?

Up until a few days ago, there were very few inventory cars in Ottawa and Montreal, and a lot of new inventory came in over the last few days. At the same time, it seems like delivery times for orders has increased significantly.

For at least the last month, stated delivery times was 2-4 weeks for M3 variants. Today, it went up to 2-12 weeks for the SR+, and 10-14 weeks for the LR AWD and M3P. That's quite a long time.

Could it be that some significant change is coming, with some downtime at the factory? It looks to me like they are pushing the existing cars out to stores and SCs as inventory cars, and perhaps a break in production is about to occur (or already has), delaying future orders for 3 months. Could be interesting, with the announcement around the corner.

Or maybe Tesla is just giving Canada the finger for now. Who knows.

but the 3 Is still 2-4 weeks. Very strange.

Tesla is building model 3 cars until the end of the quarter (september 30).

At the beginning of the 4th quarter (october 1), Tesla will build cars for the european market. Once that is completed, they switch to the american market.

Pretty straight forward. They are maximizing production and delivery to put out the most cars per quarter. The customers with longer shipping distance get their cars manufactured first. Closest customers to the factory get their cars last (of the quarter).
