If you're going to dream, dream big. Instead of a $30k quasi sports car, make it $50k and let it out run Camaros.

Put a Bolt motor on the rear axle, and a Spark motor on the front.

Combined with a Bolt battery pack, there should be plenty of power in that package for 5 second 0-60, and more profit margin than the Bolt has.

That might start the gear heads thinking...

The designer is already on staff, that's a Chevrolet Concept car from a few years ago.

The format was sort of used for the Cadillac ELR, which failed miserably.

Sports coupes sell poorly, hence why they are rare. Tesla does not make one, nor do they have plans to.

I would certainly buy a "Jolt", but I'm not a typical enduser.

A deep search of GM's trademark filings has revealed what may very well be two other models in their *olt family of electrified vehicles:

DOLT - The lame-brained electric car; strictly for CARB compliance.
MOLT - The ugly duckling electric car that sheds its weirdmobile exterior to reveal its true beauty underneath.

Tesla originally had plans for Model S Coupe and Estate, back when they thought they could only sell 20k liftback sedans per year.

Everybody says they want coupes. When they make one, nobody buys it.

The Corvette is actually a low production car for GM at 35k a year.

BUT... "Corvette E-Ray" was recently trademarked and rumor is the next Vette is mid-engined and perhaps AWD with hybrid assist like LaFerrari.

A Molt would have Gull Wing doors, so no convertible.

If the ELR is any example, GM would make this a Caddy and charge $30K more for it.

I like the looks and the imaginary specs but it does have an unnecessary air grill. EV that up a bit and it would even be better.

The Jolt is basically the Tru140S from the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. There are a few variations but it is fundamentally the same concept as McRat pointed out.

This Jolt EV looks very similar to GM's Opel Astra:

The Jolt was based on an earlier design from Chevrolet.

Don't miss visiting the website to check out the quality. While it is not a real product, the passion from the creator is needed throughout the automotive industry. Matt Teske does have a Model 3 on order.
