Mandatory Speed Limiters from July 2022?

That's a good point, so also accelerating extremely suddenly can get you too, I suppose.
any extreme changes of speed are what get you which is what "rapidly becoming stationary is" but also being hit by something moving much faster than you. Clarkson of course was only speaking from the point of view of the driver no doubt. Being accelerated to death is not really a thing in a road car not even a model s Plaid but it definitely is if you stand in front of one. 0-60 in 0.1seconds.

The media rarely get anything correct.

I sort of expect general media to be reporting this stuff incorrectly, but in this case it's specialist journalist who really should be doing better in their own field.

Seriously, could you imagine a sports journalist reporting - with a straight face - that Freddie Flintoff was going to be playing up front for Man U next season because he was going to do a pro/celeb charity match with them?

Does anyone know if this mandatory speed limiter EU regulation is coming in July this year? With an EDD sometime in May I'm hoping my MY will not have this fitted!

The Tesla already has this Speed Limit Warning in place but it’s not on unless you decide to use it.
It’s not a limiter as such, it doesn’t actively prevent exceeding a specific speed, unlike the Mercedes I had where you could set a limit yourself, and it wouldn’t be fooled by picking up incorrect limits from side roads. I wish Tesla would adopt that system, It was great!

tell that to a pedestrian
Maybe teaching pedestrians use pedestrian crossings would help plus a rerun of the “Safe Way to Cross a road” campaigns that used to be run in the 70’s on TV. It isn’t always the drivers fault as is being pushed nowadays it can sometimes be bad road awareness on the part of pedestrians too. I had a woman today cross in front of me as I was approaching a car stopped at a red pedestrian crossing …… 1 car length away from the safety of the already green for pedestrians crossing, stupid woman🤦🏼‍♂️

sure why not. I think they are one of the few remaining things from that decade that don't feature a convicted paedophile.
