Last year 2019 vin with K changed to 2020 vin with L in from around 10th of October.. but it all depends how many vins left for 2020 unallocated to cars to be built..then will start using 2021 vins ..to have M in the vin?

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I got my Model 3 standard plus Sept. 13 and am loving it. Best car ever and that's after owning a lot of cool cars including a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls, Audi A8, Mercedes S500, Corvettes, etc. I'm retired now and my usual travel is local, thus this model will be just fine. But wife and I realized that her Ford Fusion Hybrid did not have the luggage space we needed to drive from VA to MI and back picking up her mother in law. So the Tesla was driven there back and forth and I must say even though I was a bit nervous never having done the long distance daisy chaining of Superchargers everything went flawless...almost...until the last 40 miles coming back I must have been a bit too heavy on the pedal or miscalculated but I got warnings to reduce my speed to below 60mph on I66 70 mph limit. I arrived home with 1% of charge and hope I didn't cause any damage...but it charged up to 90% the next day just fine. Again, best car I've ever owned. It's a damn space ship!

Thanks, that's good to know. I was guessing sometime in November but I really didn't know.

I just got assigned a vin and it is "L". Not sure if it is left over inventory or off the line.

Yeah that’s what I wanted as well. If you don’t really need the car now, wait until you get something newer.

I ordered 10/4, received a 2020 VIN on 10/8 for a car built on 9/12. Delivery was for tomorrow but has been pushed out to Wed, 10/14 as the car hasn’t made it to Raleigh yet....

Ordered on 10/08 for a SR+ White exterior/black interior and received a 2020 VIN the same day. 8086x3 ending VIN.

Will be asking to release the VIN and ask to have a delivery date in November. Hoping for a 2021 VIN by then.

I plan to order this week, if I do am I likely to get an L or M VIN? I'm in the UK, if that counts for anything.
