MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

How was the MPP to UP switch? I have thought about it, since UP has more adjustment range and looks like it could be nicer. But really don't want to eat the cost to do the switch
+1 on this. I'm waiting on delivery and debating between the MPP and UP FUCA right now. Is one or the other significantly easier to switch camber on track days? Is the caster and toe adjustment on the UP worth the $450 difference for people who take their car to the track 6-8 times a year?

I’m not sure which is easier as but I can tell you that I can have my wheels swapped, coilovers adjusted and camber/toe set in the front in under 40 minutes with the MPP arms. I didn’t really care about caster.

Its somewhat easier at first to do MPP switch, but with some practice it's not hard on UP either and almost same time. Ability to make caster even on both sides and set an exact camber was a big deal for me personally. So I sold my MPP FUCA. There is no toe adjustment on the FUCA, though.

Thanks. MPP has a guide with photos how to adjust the camber with shims but UP has nothing but product photos and no instructions on adjustment so it's hard to compare. I ordered the UP FUCA. Coming from a german car I've gotten used to high caster. I don't know what the model 3 stock caster is but I'll be able to adjust if needed.

There is quite good instruction from UP.

thanks for the write up! I’m very curious about the cheap cleaner solution for body sliding. I’m trying to custom cut something like you have in the picture in between my leg and the door so my body doesn’t have to fight the slide during cornering (I use left foot braking so it’s even more important to have body not sliding or my left leg will have no choice but to help keep the body balanced). What material did you use for this smart solution? Is it EVA form (like the ones used for yoga brick) ?

questuon for the Scroth quick fit harness. If you have it fastened tight enough, will your body still slide during cornering ? Thanks :)
Yes, EVA foam. The Schroth harness keeps the body tight but my legs still flop around, hence the pad.

Yes, there are 10 teams that have joined, some with a car some with 2. But there is still room for you if you want ...

In Italy for the first year, but it will be a European championship in the future!
So where were the 10 teams you told us about back in March? I can't find any results or video of the race either? Is it available to watch?

Are you talking about the E-STC? If so UPP posted yesterday about it. I believe SKY broadcasted it.

I don't have Sky and I can't find anything looking like a race on their social media. You would have thought they'd have some video of the event on YouTube or somewhere? What was billed back in March was a sprint race series with at least 10 teams, some of which had 2 cars.

If you go to their E-STC FB page you can see the videos and inside the cars. I did not see a full event video.

What’s cool is other options for race seats though like OMP. I wonder if they found a way to get rid of the screen nag. Been slowly seeing other options but I’m still looking for a nice bolstered one that can recline.

I miss my alcantara Recaros 😭
Tell me about it! It's the one thing left I want to upgrade to. Someone showed me this from a U.S. owners group but he didn't give me the link. A recliner would be even better of course.

Hello everyone, as you may know I am the organizer of the E-STC championship.

I can confirm that we did the first launch event, in Imola, and it was super exciting for us! To answer your question, the FIA homologated the Rollbar only a couple of weeks ago, so some have not managed to finish the cars in time (like our friend doms75d from this Forum), but there will obviously be at the first race that gives score in September.

Everything went very well, the drivers and the teams are at a high level, the car was very fast from free practice (lap times comparable to a GT4, with no team that has yet worked on the setups) and the races were very fun.

The final competition format is:
- FP
- Superpole (full power)
- Qualify Race (full power)
- Race (max 280kw)

The drivers were enthusiastic, and honestly we are too. We organize many of the major races in Italy, but for us this is a completely new adventure and we believe it is the future of racing. Already after this first event (which was presentation, but not points for the championship), teams contacted us to access the Series immediately. Of course, even if any of you are interested, he can contact me.

I upload some photos of the event.

It was not a race weekend that gave points for the overall standing, it was in fact a launch event, because only 7 cars were ready and, of these, only 5 could do the "hand-to-hand" race having already the homologation of the Rollbar. But the whole Format was done!
