The boot (trunk) looks amazing, but I also really like that non-shiny kind of black paint... I'm set on metallic blue, but I wouldn't mind having that colour instead!

This black color looks the best on it, it’s almost like some kind of a graphic black. It really looks super elegant and sporty at the same time.

yes, if they only offer Matte black I'll go for that but hopefully they offer matte as a finish rather than a color if so I'm leaning more towards Matte White, or a blue or red

When will be known what they offer?
Anyway, this car is so special that any color will look spectacular on it. But like I said, I would go with black. :)

speculation is we'll know more by the end of March, it's not idle chatter either, an Elon tweet or two sparked it off

I see that Elon makes a lot of sparkles with his tweets. I read in a several topics here about things that Elon put in his tweets and they may be happening or maybe not. :)

Has any one seen an actual MDL3 on the streets for testing etc.All the pictures posted seem to always be of the prototype at the introduction. I live in the northern climates and we typically will see manufactures and their new spy wrapped cars heading to be cold weather tested in the fridge parts of Canada and Alaska but so far No luck with the Teslas.

No, no one has yet. Here is a whole thread on it. Cold weather testing?

My understanding is that Matte wraps are a reasonable alternative - and if the look gets stale you can rip it off and have nice glossy factory-fresh paint underneath.

MS imo... looks best in Pearl White with Black accents and Black wheels. I think the M3 will look best in this color scheme as well.

While I like the look of the matte black M3, my current car is black, normal non-matte black. Every speck of dust stands out immediately. It's pretty much impossible to keep clean.

That's EXACTLY what I'm going to do with my M≡. Unless the special reward for line-waiters is a limited-edition exterior color, I will get pearl white, have my factory wheels wrapped black and tint the windows. It will be so amazing, I can picture it.

I keep cars too long to go with the latest look in timeless elegance.

I thought matte paint colours went out of style years ago.

I have never been fond of matte paint, since here in LA, you would only see that style on civics and 8 passengers vans. Driving a matte car (specially a civic) in a nice neighborhood, was like asking the police to stop you every block; because of this, matte cars around here were viewed as "cheap" for a lack of a better word. Now, the only matte cars I see are Tesla, and they are beautiful, the red badge accentuates the black body.

My top pick is still metallic blue, but matte black is growing on me; I just wish Tesla would offer metallic Onyx.

The matte black did not look good up close at the reveal. Every single fingerprint, handprint, or touch left a mark.
