Maximizing Delivery Output

As production continues to ramp up Tesla is going to need to change the current delivery process. We are starting to see bottlenecks in high demand areas like SoCal and Seattle which will continue to worsen as more cars are built. Below Ive outlined a few ways Tesla can address this problem in the short term and long term. These do not address external issues like railcar shortages.

++ major positve
+ positve
- negative
-- major negative

Short Term
  • Host Delivery Events in High Demand Areas
    • ++Events would have a positive PR effect
    • +Doesn't require extra capital if partnered with a location
    • --Requires a level of QC that Tesla has not proven to have
  • Fragment Delivery Order lists from a master to Delivery Order List by SC
    • ++Maximizes current delivery throughput($$)
    • +Increases Tesla footprint in lower demand areas
    • --Upset Customers because the original order for delivery is ignored.
  • Promote Travel Delivery
    • This would be something like Tesla saying Fremont is full, we will give you $X in supercharging credits and (Other incentives) to take delivery in (less busy delivery center)
    • ++ Encourages new customers to try out travel in their Tesla
    • + Fun Trip for those able
    • -- Doesn't work if delivery is/will be rejected (Again QC)
    • - Difficult to deal with issues/scheduling
Long Term
  • Build more SC
    • ++ Better service for customers
    • -- Cost Money when needing to show profits
    • -- Hiring people takes time
  • Partner with services like Carvana
    • ++ quick delivery to customers homes
    • -- Cut in profits
    • - Negotiations take time and don't always succeed
Im interested in your take on these, as well as Ideas you think might work

On a side note I think we will see the second in the short term list happening. I just got a VIN
