Melbourne to Byron in our S60

Just completed a return trip Melbourne to Byron Bay (Ocean Shores actually) in our (modest battery!) S60. Great trip with Superchargers very conveniently spaced. Eight Supercharger stops (free for life) varying from 25-40 minutes, pretty well timed for a meal or coffee break. Averaged 16.5kw/100km at rated speed limits, mostly 110km/hr.
Just a dream run on autopilot. Was a bit lonely at the Superchargers- not once was there another Tesla on site.
This is the future.

Nice.. glad you did it. 16.5 kw / 100 km on that trip sounds good to me. It is the future. Did you use the Tesla app or did you also use abetterrouteplanner ?

Was this using range mode and any heating/cooling in the cabin?

A few questions to answer:
-didn't use abetterrouteplanner, just Model S navigation. It's brilliant, leads you right to every Supercharger and optimises charging to minimise stop time. Always slightly underestimates (conservative) remaining charge at next Supercharger. Phone app keeps you updated on remaining charge minutes while you enjoy a coffee.

-We always drive in chill mode (stacks of grunt), had cabin ventilation on auto (23 degrees) with air conditioner kicking in at times and heating in the cold morning. Also used seat heaters at times. I found dropping the suspension to low once u are on the freeway saved power.

-Yep, all chargers setup ready for model 3; it will be annoying if you have to wait once the model 3's populate! Tesla were already expanding the Gundagai installation.
btw, all Superchargers seemed to commence charging around 95kw except St Leonards.
