I think it's more making fun of all the established automakers, like MB, who have announced their intentions to produce a revolutionary EV that will be a Tesla Killer. More often than not, they claim to have some secret, innovative battery technology will be more energy dense, charges in minutes and impervious to catching fire. Taking the absurdity to the max, this spoof car uses disposable AA cells as its power source (which obviates the need to plug-in), instead of the rechargeable commodity cells employed by Tesla. Instead of the high performance Tesla, this car tops out at 53 mph.
