Very good feedback everyone! I won't lease as I drive about 30,000 miles a year. I have 200,000 miles on my 2008 Prius, 101,000 on my 2004 BMW CiC and just under 12,000 on my 2011 Roadster 2.5:)
If I could get a CPO MS at $50K I'd buy it but it would have to have low miles. I was also looking at the Audi A3 etron but I don't think that will qualify for the Clean Pass in NY which allows one to ride in the HOV lane alone.

The miles on an EV are not like miles on an ICE. With an ICE you have a motor that is predisposed to self destruction. It is exploding at 2,000 times per minute or more. Then you have a transmission, exhaust system etc etc...... I think that a Model S CPO even with many miles is likely close to the same condition as a Model S with few miles. I have over 50,000 miles on my S and it still feels like brand new.

True but then there is the battery with a life expectancy of a certain number of miles, correct?

You mean the Tesla battery? Mine has over 50,000 miles with less than 2% loss. So like 10 miles out of 250. You never use the whole 250 anyway. Even on long road trips I usually recharge around 200 or when I get hungry.

Got it. As I drive about 30,000 miles per year it is of concern.
