I saw a commercial for the new E Class last night. It looks like it will have all of the features that Autopilot has (except maybe summon). Maybe it's old news, but has anyone experienced one of these? How does it compare?

It's somewhat old news but that's at least partly Mercedes's fault because they don't advertise it much. IMO The E class has much better collision avoidance and mitigation features, but so far most of the reviews think the self-driving aspect is worse than Tesla's. It is definitely not meant to be hands-off and the car often stops steering without any warning. So it's not Tesla's "legalese" version of "yeah the car will steer correctly by itself for minutes at a time, but officially we say you must put your hands on the wheel"

The E class variant is truly a driver *assist* feature. Think of it as AutoCorrect for steering, not auto-steering.

Mercedes-Benz's 2017 E-Class won't let you nap behind the wheel
