How is it possible that this two seaters sport car is slower in the 0-100 km/h time than the Tesla P85D, a sedan with less stated horsepower?
What Mercedes customers should say? They bought a half a million car that has less performance than a sedan that costs 1/5, despite having more horsepower.
Do they complain that their car does not performe as well as a Ferrari with same hp? Or do they understand that the electric drivetrain/battery is completely different?

Does the SLS-AMG-E has gone through the same kind of test made on the P85D to see the actual horsepower? How it will performe in this tests?

Is it an ICE? Looks to me like MB/AMG is building an electric. Seems great to me. I think Tesla will benefit from competition. Bring on the Porsche and hopefully this car too.

The car linked to in the OP is an AMG modified Mercedes SLS which is an EV (no ICE) with an electric motor for each wheel. It is extremely expensive, very limited production vehicle.

And the specs state that it has 4 electric motors, a 60 kWh battery, and a 156 mile range.

Excellent point. Tesla is not the first, or last, automaker to use exaggerated HP (or PS) claims for electric propulsion (or ICE for that matter).

I still wish they would not do it. It is better to underpromise and overdeliver.

The top speed is the same 155mph. There is a lack of information on top end performance, so there is still a possibility of drastically better performance there.

It was in 2013, the only year they made them. Also, they only made about 10 of them. It was a marketing and R&D car.

As a matter of fact, it was! One of the only places where any were sold.

A lot of people are missing the context here (and history of this beautiful vehicle). But, yep... and show me an automaker who wouldn't do this as well. If Tesla isn't going to self-police, you know no other automaker would have the ethics to. Bottom line is that consumers need more education and/or new standards need to be put in place for reporting HP from an EV.

Yes, most people missed the point. This is not about "Yes, it's electric" or "Wow it's powerfull".
This is about how many EV with + 500 HP have been on the market so far. The answer: almost none.
What do we know about how the declared HP reflects on real life? Almost nothing.
And this SLS AMG EV is a good exemple, because I really doubt that it really has 750 HP. (At least not as we are used to consider HP in a ICE).

As you say, we need more education and/or new standard. But I don't think it will be fair if Tesla would suffer from this "problem" just because it's been a pioneer in bringing powerfull EV on the market.

I hope that if/when this story of true HP will reach the media, someone (like Cleantechnica) will bring up this example of the electric SLS AMG.
