My observations are consistent with Ciaopec's. The Tesla Find Us map shows the Merritt Island Service Center since it is open for business. However, I was not able to locate the Merritt Island Service Center or a new Orlando Service Center at the corner of Rt. 528 and Rt. 441 in Google maps. Perhaps you could provide a screenshot of what you are observing? That general area does have several automotive type businesses and we have suggested to Jerome and the Development Team possible candidate locations not far from there. Lary
Dropped my MS off there today. It's still very much under construction. No bathrooms, just a portable toilet. It's basically not much more than a service drive, offices for the advisors, and a very dirty waiting area. I'm glad I didn't have to drive to Orlando, but wow.
It is a work in progress. Drove by today and there is far more construction going on than during previous visits. I think @Larry Chanin ( and others perhaps) and I have mentioned that they are shooting for a showroom in the first quarter hence, the mess. Your bathrooms are on the way!
It appears that work continues on the build-out of the Sales Operations, along with deliveries of new vehicles. Presumably, lobby amenities are included. Larry
That looks like the back of a MS but the diffuser area does not look like my 2016. Could be wrong. If the shutdown of the MS/MX line refreshed things is that the reason for the covers. Don't remember Teslas being shipped with cover.
They are gone as far as I know. Supposed to be shipped out yesterday. Maybe someone who lives closer to SvC can check .
That's quite a lip on the front of the car- maybe it's an aggressive-looking air scoop for battery cooling? ie is this actually a PLAID S, not a Performance or LR Refresh?
I had an appointment there for this past Monday to swap wheels and replace a headlight. They switched me to Mobile next week. Plaid are now on the website if you go in the configurator.
Had a great experience at the Service Center on Merritt Island. I have a 2016.5 90D with north of 142,000 miles. This is the first time I have lived closer than 75 miles of a service center; in the past it was closer to 140. So the 5 mile drive was great! MCU1 screen had started to bubble and lots of increasingly frequent outages. To replace MCU1 would have been around $1400. MCU upgrade was only $1500. I had my car in the Merritt Island SVC at 0900 and picked it up at 1300 (1pm). Only glitch: had trouble with phone and blue tooth. Rebooted MCU; rebooted phone; toggled bluetooth, etc. Finally dragged Service Advisor out and, of course. my car found his phone right away. Guess my phone just needed a hint as it connected shortly thereafter! Observations. The PRND symbols are not where I left them when I dropped the car off. Other symbology has shifted and the fonts have changed. Autopilot symbology must reflect how the new cars display same and not like they were for AP1 cars. Back up camera is clear and bright. All car settings (seat positions, gate control, garage door, and former waypoints remained intact. My software is 48.35.5. Haven't checked to see if supercharging speed will go back above 93kW. When the car was new it usually ramped up above 115kW. As Ferris Buehler said: if you have the means I highly recommend it
IMPORTANT NOTE: Merritt Island Service Center management has contacted me and requested that we refrain from taking photos on their property after regular business hours. I respectfully ask everyone to comply. After regular business hours, people on Tesla's property may learn that their photo and vehicle information was forwarded to local law enforcement for follow-up. Please do not enter the service area or areas under construction without being escorted by Tesla employees due to safety and security concerns. Thanks. Larry
