What about wrapping the covers?
I never wanted to PC them as I would have to remove them and just gets costly. Painting you can do, but I had bad luck with Caliper spray paint. I had good luck with caliper brush on paint in a can, but it just doesn't look as good as PC or wrapping. Ultimately your budget has to decide, but wrapping you can do some pretty cool stuff!
