The upshot: The agreement is pretty good on the whole, and is about the best compromise anyone could reasonably expect. However, it requires that GM keep their US factories running. This may rob GM of much-needed flexibility in the future. "From that perspective, this agreement will obstruct GM's ability to regain its previous stature as a world-class car company."
